A Taliban spokesman says the rumors about the assassination of Taliban deputy PM Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar are not true

Baradar was nowhere to be seen, so questions were being raised that he had died. Now the video of Baradar’s interview has been tweeted by the Taliban and the news of his death has been denied. This video has been tweeted by Amdullah Muttaki, Chief of the Multimedia Branch of the Cultural Commission of Afghanistan.

Earlier on Monday, Mulla Abdul Ghani Baradar himself confirmed in an audio message that he was alive and not injured. He has been saying the same thing about Haibatullah Akhundzada for the last 2 years, but in the last 2 years no one has seen or heard from him till now. Earlier reports said Faiz Hameed, the head of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence, had reached Kabul after a clash between Baradar and Haqqani-backed groups, in which Baradar was injured.

Who is Mulla Abdul Ghani Baradar
Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar is a founding member of the Taliban. He is also the deputy prime minister in the interim Taliban government. He was arrested by Pakistan’s ISI in the year 2010. After this, he was released in the year 2018. He has the responsibility of running many madrassas in the Taliban. According to the information, Baradar lives in Doha, the capital of Qatar.

In fact, Baradar has not been seen in public for several days and was not part of the Taliban delegation that met Qatar’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani in Kabul on 12 September. A senior member of the Taliban based in Qatar also confirmed reports of controversy and heated debate.
